Product Owner

The Product Owner is responsible for the commercial success of the project. He organizes the neccessary work, and optimizes the work already delivered with the help of the Product Backlog. He is the only party that organizes the Product Backlog. This includes the following tasks:

These tasks can be performed by the Product Owner himself, or he may let the Development Team perform them, at his responsibility.
The Product Owner is a single person, but he can and should reflect the visions of a committe or costumer. He is the only person allowed to change the Product Backlog.
A project can only succeed if the decisions of the Product Owner, which are reflected in the content and order of the Product Backlog, are respected.
